Welcome back to school!! I hope you got out and enjoyed all that this island has to offer during our wonderful fall break here on the beautiful island of Oahu. I know we did! :)

Volunteer orientation is held every Monday in P-1 at 8:15 a.m.
***Volunteer orientation is required of EVERY volunteer at Solomon. ***

****If you can not make it to volunteer orientation day AND can not attend any other orientation offered every Monday during the school year. Please let us know. We understand if it is due to daily work or school commitments and we are more than happy to schedule a one on one orientation at a time that is convenient for both you and I.****

***If you took the volunteer orientation last year,  you do not have take it again this year. However you will need to update your paperwork with your current information for this year in order to be put on the list of approved volunteers.

 

 *** If you are volunteering for the day anywhere on campus we recommend that you either bring your own snacks/lunch/drinks OR set up a lunch account in the front office to purchase a school lunch.

Due to a recent change in policy,  volunteers at Solomon will soon be required to view two videos regarding confidentiality and sign paperwork regarding confidentiality.  As soon as the video's become available to us, it will be mandatory to watch them and sign confidentiality agreements in order to volunteer at Solomon. If you do not come in and view the videos and fill out the new paperwork then your volunteer status will be temporarily revoked until you do come in and fill out the new paperwork and watch the video's. This pertains to anyone who is currently or will be volunteering in any capacity at Solomon Elementary. An email will be sent out to anyone who has already taken the volunteer orientation when the video's become available for viewing.  Thank you for your understanding.

10/18 --- Parent to Parent Homework Hassles workshop

Where:  Solomon Elementary School

 Time:    8:30 a.m. in room P-1

10/21--- Volunteer Orientation at 8:15 in P1.

 

10/21---Halloween Grams go on sale today,  $1.00 each.

 Write a message on one of  the cut outs and send it to anyone in the school.

 Include your child's name and room number along with 

the name and room number of the person you are sending the gram to. 

We will include a small bag of pretzels with each gram sent out.

10/22--- PAWS STORE TODAY!!

 If you would like to come volunteer at the paws store please come in.

 We can always use the help :)

We need at least 2-3 volunteers from 9:30-10:00 and 4 volunteers from 11:40-1:05.

10/28 ---   picture re-take/make-up day in P1

Who should come in and re-take their picture?

1. Children who were not present on the original picture day (August22 and 23)

2. Children who's parent's did not like the picture packets that were purchased.  **Please bring in the original packet on retake day to return it to Lifetouch or they can not have their pictures re-taken.

3. Children whose parents now want pictures taken AND have pre-paid online or who have brought money on retake day.

10/30---Last day to buy Halloween grams!

 10/31--- HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Halloween Grams will be delivered to the classrooms today.

 

 

11/4 ---Volunteer orientation today at 8:15 a.m. in room P-1

11/4-11/8 --- Food Drive for the Wheeler food bank.  Please drop your food donations off in P-1.

11/5 --- PAWS STORE today!!

11/8 --- 5:30 p.m. Solomon's 5th annual PTSO Luau TONIGHT!!! 

We will not be selling tickets during the day today. You may purchase them at the door tonight.

$15 per person for dinner and show OR $10 per person for the show only
