2013 Oahu Events and Parades going on in the month of December



I know I’m probably missing some of the holiday events going on here on Oahu. So if you want to help me make this a complete list. Please email me the information and I'll add it to this list.

2013 Holiday Parades on Oahu

Friday, November 29
****         The Waikiki Holiday Parade, commemorates Pearl Harbor by honoring survivors and veterans in memory of the attacks from December 7, 1941. Local Hawaiian bands, marching bands from the mainland, military units, local officials and dignitaries march down torch-lit Kalakaua Avenue along Waikiki Beach.


Saturday, Dec. 7
****      Honolulu City Lights at 6p.m.,  Electric light parade starts at Aala Park and proceeds down King Street. Bring a blanket or chair and a jacket for these cool Hawaii nights.


****    51st Annual Kaneohe Christmas Parade at 9a.m. Parade begins at the corner of Kamehameha Hwy and Haiku Road and ends at Castle High School on Kaneohe Bay Road

****   Mililani Christmas Parade 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Parade starts at TCM and ends at Mililani Shopping Center

*    ***   Wahiawa town Xmas Parade, 6:30 p.m. from Kaala Elem., to Calif. Ave., N. Cane St., and ends at Center St.

    **** 72nd Anniversary Pearl Harbor Parade - 5:00pm-7:00pm, Ft. DeRussy to Kapiolani Park,  featuring Pearl Harbor Survivors, military and government officials, and marching bands and parade units from the U.S. Mainland and Hawaii.


Friday, Dec.13
·        **** HALEIWA TOWN CHRISTMAS PARADE,  Starts at 6:00PM It will start at Weed Circle, to Kamehameha Hwy., thru Haleiwa Town, to end at Haleiwa Beach Park.


Saturday, Dec. 14
·     ****    Kapolei City lights celebration begins at 5p.m. and The parade begins at 6p.m
    
    ****    WAIMANALO CHRISTMAS PARADE, Starts at 9:00AM It will start at Waimanalo District Park, to Hihimanu St., to Kumuhau St., to Humuniki St., to Kalanianaole Hwy., end at Waimanalo Beach Park.

 
Saturday, Dec. 15
****Waianae Coast Christmas Parade, 10 a.m. to 12 noon starting at Waianae Boat Harbor to Farrington Hwy., to end at Waianae Mall. 
****Ewa Beach Lions Club Christmas Parade, 10 A.M. to 12 noon starting at Ilima Inter., to Ft. Weaver Rd., Kuhina St., Hanakahi St., North Rd., Ft. Weaver Rd., and ends at Ilima Inter.




December Events


Nov. 12 – Dec. 20, The Vans Triple Crown on Surfing. www.triplecrownofsurfing.com Reef Hawaiian Pro at Haleiwa, Vans world cup of Surfing and women’s Roxy Pro at Sunset Beach, then the Billabong Pipeline Masters at Banzai Pipeline.

Dec. 1 – Feb. 28th The Quicksliver Big Wave Invitational in Memory of Eddie Aikau. The Eddie can only be held when surf measures at least 20 feet (Hawaiian scale ) for a full day.  Watch the news  and watch the surf report. www.quicksilver.com

Dec. 7 ---- 72nd Anniversary of the Attack on Pearl Harbor
*****Hickam Field Ceremony - 7:55am-9:00am, Atterbury Circle, Hickam Field******
The 15th Wing will host the 72nd annual December 7, 1941 remembrance ceremony to honor the 189 killed and 303 wounded during the attacks. The ceremony is open to all military identification card holders, veterans, survivors of the attack, and guests of attending survivors. Base access is required. Attendees must be in place by 7:15 a.m.

Dec. 7 – Jan. 3   Honolulu City Lights opens at Honolulu Hale. www.honolulucitylights.org

Dec. 8----- Honolulu Marathon, 26.2 mile course scenic course. www.honolulumarathon.org

Dec. 22,23 & 25th ------The Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic. 8 team, 12- game bracket tournament featuring some of the nation’s best collegiate men’s basketball teams.  www.diamondheadclassic.com

Dec. 24 -----Sheraton Hawaii Bowl. Annual college football bowl game played at Aloha Stadium. www.sheratonhawaiibowl.com

Mid Dec. to April -----  Humpback whale watching time!

5th Annual PTSO Luau!!!
A thousand thank you’s to our wonderfully amazing volunteers, that helped make the Solomon PTSO’S  annual  luau a great success!!!  Without you, we would not be able to do anything.
